Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s Sandalo fragrance has a warm, persistent, woody oriental scent. It is inspired by sandalwood, one of the most ancient and mystical fragrances. Sandalwood is native to India. It was used to build Hindu temples and furniture for ceremonial robes and bridal trousseau. Thin strips can be burned as a room fragrance. It is one of the trees in the legendary Buddhist paradise; it is said its wood was used for the wheels of the sun wagon.
