VOGUE 125
eau de parfum
The Scoop
Vogue. There’s no name more iconic in fashion history - absolutely classic, simultaneously groundbreaking, and always with two stilettoed feet firmly grounded in the highest of couture. To celebrate the magazine’s 125th anniversary, they called on the pinnacle of avant-garde, Comme des Garçons, to create their very first perfume.
Inspired by the storied publication’s rich history, Vogue 125 begins at an old-school photoshoot, with the scent of instant film and acetyl furan - a synthetic essence that mimics the smell of tobacco leaf. After that first snap of the shutter, a lush, powdery lily-of-the-valley blooms - a favorite of the magazine’s founding publisher Conde Nast - accompanied by a dash of fresh ink, which scented his first printing press in Greenwich, Connecticut. The crisp floral is cut through with subtle woods and the Saffiano leather that has formed many of the accessories lusted over in the magazine’s glossy pages. The result is heady, vibrant, and tailored to a tee. While evocative, Vogue 125 is like the most wearable couture - we can just imagine the likes of original it-girls Lauren Hutton or Brooke Shields radiating the iconic scent as they graced one Vogue cover after another.
