COMME des GARÇONS

Jun Takahashi has made this fragrance based on the image of his wilfully handmade stuffed toy creature GRAPIE daughter of GRACE.
Comme des Garçons Parfums strikes up a partnership with the artist Jun Takahashi, designer of the cult Japanese label Undercover, with two fragrances inspired by the Graces, weird stuffed-toy creatures handmade by Mr. Takahashi out of teddy bears and rhinestone jewelry. The Graces, he explains, are “white, fluffy creatures with luminous eyes. Generally peaceful towards humans, they might become defiant due to their territorial nature. It is advised to keep at a cautious distance from them.”
Holygrapie is the fragrance dedicated to Holygrace’s child. The brief called for a “baby scent” and Holygrapie is indeed as soft as an infant’s downy head, the notes so subtly blended that they run silkily together, none speaking above a whisper. A waft of woody iris in a tendril of incense; an ylang-ylang pillow in a cradle of sandalwood, patchouli and cedar. Hush!
For the days where nothing will do but the tenderness of a lullaby. Who’d have thought it would come from Comme des Garçons?
Main notes: purple ginger, mandarin, rhubarb, black pepper, orris, incense, ylang ylang, nutmeg, australian sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli, styrax, vetyver.
